Recycling Tips Preserve the planet

Recycling doesn’t have to be a chore. Every little effort to conserve and reuse can add up to a big difference.
Do your small part and inspire others to make a change.

RECYCLING TIPS

*Use paper cups instead of Styrofoam, which cannot be recycled and could take a single cup about 500 years to decompose.
*24 million tons of plastic end up in American landfills every year. Buy recycled plastics and reuse what you can.
*Eco-Me gives you a head start with their cleaning kits where you can re-use and re-mix eco-friendly cleaners over and over.

EARTHSHARE TIPS

Get Involved! Share these ideas for protecting the planet at work and at home:

At work. Assemble a team of co-workers to conduct an energy audit at your workplace. Look for lights and equipment
needlessly left on, drafty windows and doors you could insulate, inefficient thermostat settings, and other energy-wasters.
Make recommendations for improvements that will save energy and money.

Organize a recycling drive and consider collecting uncommon items such as cell phones.
Earth Share can send you collection boxes and mailing labels!

Get involved in your community. Join the community effort — check for events in your area or organize your own.

Involve the kids. If you have kids, take the opportunity to teach them about the environment.
Include them in home or community efforts or ask what their school is doing.
