your body, home and pets happy and healthy.

COMMON DANGERS CAN LURK IN YOUR HOME WITHOUT YOU EVEN KNOWING IT!

* The average home contains as much as 25 pounds of toxic cleaning products.
— Environmental Protection Agency

* Companies are not required by law to list the contents of their products and testing for long-term health
effects are not enforced. Toxins, even trace amounts, can be absorbed into your body and organs within seconds of exposure.

*The air in our homes is 3 to 7 times more chemically polluted than outdoor air, pollution and all.
— Environmental Protection Agency

* Of chemicals commonly found in homes, 150 have been linked to allergies, birth defects, cancer and psychological abnormalities.
— The Consumer Product Safety Commission

* A substantial and growing body of evidence indicates that exposures to certain toxic chemicals & hormone mimicking compounds contribute to the development of breast cancer.
— The Breast Cancer Research Fund

* Many products claiming to be safe and natural contain harmful dyes and ammonia and put your health at risk.

* Estrogen-like chemicals in our environment (can be found in food, pesticides and detergent cleaners) have been known to interfere with sperm activity and may increase breast cancer risk.
— Research discovered during a study at the University of Texas Medical Branch.

* In the U.S. a woman will die from breast cancer every 13 minutes.
— The Breast Cancer Research Fund

* Since 1950, at least 70,000 new chemical compounds have been invented and dispersed into our environment.
Only a fraction of these have been tested for human toxicity.

* The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health analyzed 2,983 chemicals used in personal care products
and 884 were found to be toxic, some even caused mutagenic changes.

* Each year 1 million children are accidentally poisoned in their own homes. The most common substance to poison children
is a household cleaner and many of these products are considered safe.
— Healthy Home Tour

* Liquid dish soap is the leading cause of poisonings in the home for children under the age of six;
most brands of liquid dish soap contain formaldehyde and ammonia.
— The American Cancer Society

* Household bleaches, used as household disinfectants, are classified as pesticides under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act.
— Household Hazardous Waste Project

* A World Health Organization panel has upgraded its assessment of the danger of formaldehyde,
declaring for the first time that the chemical is carcinogenic to humans.
— The Nation

* Just by reducing environmental carcinogens alone, we would save at least 50,000 lives taken by cancer annually.
— Dr. Lee Davis, former Advisor to the Secretary of State

* Some products release contaminants into the air right away, others do so gradually over a period of time.
Some stay airborne for up to a year.

* These contaminants, found in many household and personal care products can cause dizziness, nausea, allergic reactions, eye/skin/respiratory tract infections and some cancer.
— American Lung Association

* Synthetic compounds can be dangerous to our health. Look for products that are made with natural materials.

* Most dyes are made from synthetic components, which are unnatural and may cause health related issues.

* The United States of America Federal Code of Regulations exempts manufacturers from full labeling of products
infused for personal, family or household care. You can request a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) from a
manufacturer that describes the chemical properties of a product.
